DJDOC8.DOC 15 August 1990 (c) Anneke Sicherer-Roetman
Document file belonging with DJDOC8.EXE
INTRODUCTION
DJDOC8 is a printing program that prints text files on HP Deskjet printers.
It can print as much as 8 pages on one sheet of paper. It should work OK
also on HP Deskjet Plus and HP Laserjet type printers (not tested however).
IMPORTANT NOTICE
DJDOC8.EXE is posted as freeware under the following conditions:
1. The copyright notices may not be removed
2. It may not be sold, only given away without any cost
3. It may not be modified in any way
4. This file (DJDOC8.DOC) should always accompany DJDOC8.EXE
If you use this program more than ten times I would appreciate a "donation"
in the form of a picture postcard from where you live. If you like it so
much you'd like to pay something for it, send a real donation to the World
Wildlife Fund or Greenpeace or the Red Cross.
I wrote DJDOC8 because I needed it. I hope it will be of use to you too.

USAGE
The program is executed by the command
djdoc8 [options] <filename(s)>
The options are explained below. They may be tied together like -cot3 or
given seperately like -c -o -t3. The filename(s) may include wildcards.
Without any given options DJDOC8 defaults to as much text it can squeeze
onto a piece of paper in as little time as possible. If you don't choose
onesided operation printing will stop at every odd page number to allow
you to turn the paper upside down in the tray again. If DJDOC8 is
called without a filename or option it will give you the list of options.
Options:
-a : American 11" size paper (default A4 size paper)
-c : print in two long columns (default two rows of two short columns)
-n : no printing, only counting of pages (useful!)
-o : onesided printing (default twosided printing)
-q : near letter quality (default draft quality)
-s : silent operation (default beep when ready)
-u : unidirectional printing (default bidirectional printing)
-l<number> : lines per page (default depends on -a option)
-p<number> : page number to start (default 1)
-t<number> : tab expansion factor (default 8)
Enjoy!
